Copyright and DMCA
This page explains how copyright works on 11zon.cc, how to report material you believe infringes your rights, and what happens after you write to us. It is written to be usable rather than impressive, so read the first section before you draft a notice. It may save you some time.
What we own
The content we publish is ours. That includes the code behind all 259 tools, the tool pages and their wording, the guides and articles on our blog, our graphics, our layout and the 11zon name and branding. Copyright in that material belongs to the operator of 11zon. You are welcome to use the tools for personal or commercial work, and to link to any page you like. You may not copy our tool code, republish our guides as your own, or scrape the site to build a competing product. If you want to quote a short passage from a guide, do it with a link back to the page you took it from.
What we do not host
Now the part that matters most for a takedown notice.
11zon does not host third-party uploaded content. There are no user accounts, no profiles, no comments, no forums and no file storage. The tools process your files inside your browser, and nothing is sent to us, so there is no library of visitor files on this site and no user gallery to moderate. Our own web server holds the pages we published and nothing else.
That has a direct consequence. A DMCA notice sent to us will, in practice, be about something we published ourselves: a paragraph in a guide, a graphic, a tool name or a page title. We are not a host passing along someone else’s upload, and we will not pretend to be one by hiding behind safe-harbour language. If our own page carries your work without permission, that is our problem to fix, and we will treat it that way.
How to send a notice
Send notices by email to [email protected] with the subject line “DMCA Notice”. To let us act quickly, include all six of the elements below. They mirror the requirements of Section 512(c)(3) of the US Copyright Act.
- Identification of the copyrighted work. Describe the work you say has been infringed. If several works are involved, give a representative list. A registration number helps but is not required.
- The exact URL on 11zon.cc. Give the full address of each page you want us to look at, for example
https://11zon.cc/blog/example-guide/. We cannot act on “somewhere on your site”, and a screenshot without a URL slows everything down. - Your contact details. Full name, mailing address, telephone number and an email address we can reply to. If you are writing for an organisation, say which one and what your authority is.
- A good-faith statement. A sentence saying you believe in good faith that the use you are complaining about is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement under penalty of perjury. A sentence saying the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your signature. A physical signature or a typed electronic signature is fine. Typing your full name at the end of the email meets this requirement.
If you just want a link removed, email us first
Most complaints here are small, and most are settled in one message. If you only want a link, a credit, a caption or a short quotation changed or removed, write to [email protected] and say so in plain words. You do not need the six-element notice, a legal template or a lawyer for that. We have no interest in keeping something on the site against the wishes of the person who made it. A short, clear email is usually the fastest route to a fix.
Counter-notice
If we remove or change material because of a notice and you believe the removal was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to [email protected], again with the subject line “DMCA Notice”. Include your contact details, identification of the material that was removed and the URL it used to sit at, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where the operator of 11zon can be found and will accept service of process. Add your physical or electronic signature. We will review it and may restore the material if the counter-notice holds up.
What happens next
We acknowledge valid notices within about three business days. A notice that arrives without the elements above gets a reply asking for whatever is missing, and the clock starts once it is complete.
From there, the sequence is short. We look at the page, compare it against the work you described, and decide whether your complaint is well founded. When it is, we act promptly: we take the material down, or rewrite it, or add the credit you asked for if that solves the problem. We then reply to tell you what we did. When we think a notice is mistaken, we say so and explain why, rather than quietly ignoring it. If you gave us a phone number and the matter is urgent, we may call.
Repeat infringement and false claims
We keep a record of notices and how they were resolved. Anyone who repeatedly uses this site to publish infringing material will be dealt with, and where an account relationship existed it would be terminated on a repeat-infringer basis. In practice this site has no accounts and no user publishing, so the realistic version of that policy is simple: material that keeps drawing valid complaints gets removed and stays removed.
One warning, offered plainly. A knowingly false claim of infringement carries legal consequences under US law, including liability for damages, costs and attorney’s fees. Do not accuse someone of infringement to settle a score, to suppress criticism, or to remove a page you simply dislike. Before you send a notice, make sure you own the rights you are asserting and that our page is the thing you mean to complain about.
